Hyde, 4x100m Relay Score for Women’s Track & Field on Second Day of Northeast-10 Outdoor Championship

Ravens finish 10th

Sundqvist Sundqvist anchored the 4x100-meter relay team to an eighth-place finish on Saturday at the Northeast-10 Championship.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 4, 2013) – Freshman Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) and the 4x100-meter relay team picked up points on Saturday for the Franklin Pierce University women's track and field team on the second day of the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by American International at John G. Hoyt Track and Field Complex. In total over the two days, Franklin Pierce collected 11 points to finish 10th at the 11-team meet.

For Hyde, Saturday's hammer throw was her second scoring event of the Championship after finishing fourth in the discus on Friday. In the hammer, she posted a mark of 34.75 meters to finish eighth and earn one point.

Franklin Pierce's other point on the day came from an eighth-place finish by the 4x100-meter relay squad. The team of freshman Nicki Zeigler (Circleville, N.Y.), freshman Kayla DiGiantommaso (Manchester, N.H.), freshman Hadley Doubleday (Plymouth, Mass.) and junior Jannice Sundqvist (Harnosand, Sweden) got the baton around the track in 52.33 seconds.

Ravens competed in three other events on the second and final day of the Northeast-10 Championship. The 4x400-meter relay squad of Sundqvist, freshman Ashley Maresca (Brant Lake, N.Y.), Zeigler and freshman Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) finished ninth (4:18.14). Hyde also competed in the shot put, where she finished 11th (9.66m). Lambert placed 23rd in the 800 meters (2:28.96).

Massachusetts Lowell (189 points) backed up its indoor title by posting a 70-point victory in the team competition over New Haven (119) to claim the outdoor title as well. Host American International (114), Southern Connecticut State (91) and Stonehill (90) rounded out the top five.
