Women’s Tennis Downed at Le Moyne, 7-0

RINDGE, N.H. (October 10, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was shutout on the road on Wednesday afternoon, 7-0, in a Northeast-10 Conference match at Le Moyne.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 2-10 (2-7 NE10), while Le Moyne improves to 8-3 (7-2 NE10).

Le Moyne took all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point to open play. The Ravens were most competitive at first doubles, where the duo of juniors Alana Wyatt (Worcester, Mass.) and Brigid Washburn (Greentown, Pa.) held their own in a 7-5 loss to Le Moyne freshman Birdem Oz and senior Tiffany Hamdan.

Le Moyne also took all six singles matches to close out the 7-0 victory. Wyatt claimed three games for the Ravens at first singles, while junior Sarah Rich (Windham, Maine), junior Kelly O'Donnell (Maywood, N.J.) and senior Shelli Safran (Boxborough, Mass.) took four games apiece at third, fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

The Ravens return to the court on Friday, Oct. 12, when they travel to Assumption for an NE10 match at 3 p.m. in Worcester, Massachusetts.
