Women’s Tennis Falls to Bentley, 8-1

RINDGE, N.H. (October 20, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated, 8-1, by Bentley at home in Northeast-10 Conference play on Friday afternoon.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce concludes the fall portion of its schedule at 2-14 (1-11 NE10), while Bentley improves to 10-5 (7-5 NE10).

The lone point of the day for the Ravens came courtesy of sophomore Sarah Rich (Windham, Maine) at third singles. She took a straight-set victory from Bentley senior Alexia Petruzziello, 6-3, 6-2. Franklin Pierce was also competitive at first singles, where sophomore Alana Wyatt (Worcester, Mass.) held her own, but ultimately fell to junior Hannah Fabianski, 6-4, 6-4.

Fabianski was one of two Falcons to win in both singles and doubles play on Friday. Earlier, she had teamed with senior Katie Brandow for an 8-3 win at second doubles. Brandow was also a winner at second singles, where she dropped just two games.

The Ravens will return to the court in the spring.
