Women’s Tennis Downed by Gordon, 7-2

RINDGE, N.H. (April 10, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated on Monday afternoon, 7-2, at home by Gordon in non-conference play.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 4-15, while Gordon improves to 11-8.

Franklin Pierce picked up its first point of the day at second doubles. It was freshman Sarah Rich (Windham, Maine) and Kelly O'Donnell (Maywood, N.J.) who pulled out an 8-5 victory over Gordon sophomores Justine Hanson and Gabrielle Brucker.

The Ravens later added a point at first singles as well. Freshman Alana Wyatt (Worcester, Mass.) dropped the first set, but battled back for a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.

In all, Gordon had four players who were victorious in both singles and doubles play on Monday. Sophomore Kaelyn Hall led the way, as she was part of a win at first doubles, before rallying to defeat Rich at second singles, 1-6, 6-1, 6-0.

The Ravens return to the court on Thursday, April 13, when they travel to Post for a non-conference match at 2 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
