Women’s Tennis Downed at Eastern Florida State, 9-0, to Conclude Florida Swing

MELBOURNE, Fla. (March 16, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated on Thursday afternoon, 9-0, on the road at Eastern Florida State in non-conference play, to wrap up a three-match Florida swing.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 4-13, while Eastern Florida State improves to 15-7.

Eastern Florida State powered through the three doubles matches to open the day with a 3-0 lead. The Titans dropped just two games across the three matches, posting wins of 8-2, 8-0 and 8-0 at first, second and third doubles, respectively.

It was more of the same in singles play, as EFSC dropped just four games across six singles matches while rolling to the 9-0 win. Freshman Alana Wyatt (Worcester, Mass.) put up the biggest fight for Franklin Pierce, at first singles, where she dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to EFSC freshman Armelle Cerdan.

The Ravens return to the court on Thursday, March 30, when they travel to Regis (Mass.) for a non-conference contest at 4:30 p.m. in Weston, Mass.
