Women’s Tennis Downed at Adelphi, 9-0

Ravens host Saint Rose on Sunday

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (October 10, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated on Saturday, 9-0, on the road at Adelphi in Northeast-10 Conference play.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 1-11 (1-10 Northeast-10), while Adelphi improves to 12-0 (11-0 Northeast-10).

Freshman Alexia Dasilva (Naugatuck, Conn.) put up the biggest fight for the Ravens on Saturday, as she matched up with Adelphi senior Bianca Bernal at sixth singles. Dasilva hung close throughout the afternoon, but could not quite claim a set, as Bernal took the 6-3, 7-5 victory.

In all, Adelphi had five players win in both singles and doubles play on Saturday, including sophomore Elizabeth Kallenberg, who was lights out on the day. Kallenberg did not drop a game on the day, as she teamed with freshman Samantha Perri for an 8-0 win at first doubles and then swept to a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles.

The Ravens return to the court on Sunday, Oct. 11, when they return home to host Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference match at 1 p.m. in Rindge.
