Women’s Tennis Falls to Bentley, 9-0

Ravens visit New Haven Friday

RINDGE, N.H. (September 16, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated on Wednesday afternoon, 9-0, by Bentley in Northeast-10 Conference play at Franklin Pierce.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 0-4 (0-3 Northeast-10), while Bentley improves to 1-1 (1-1 Northeast-10).

Freshman Kara Brazel (Glastonbury, Conn.) put forth one of the toughest fights for Franklin Pierce across Wednesday's six singles matches. Brazel drew Bentley sophomore Olivia von Oldenburg at third singles, where the former took a pair of games in each set, but ultimately dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision.

In all, Bentley had three players win in both singles and doubles play on Wednesday afternoon, led by senior Ludmila Yamus, who won at both first singles and first doubles. She lost just a trio of games on the day, as she opened with an 8-2 win at first doubles alongside junior Rachel Petrini, before posting a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles.

The Ravens return to the court on Friday, Sept. 18, when they travel to New Haven for a Northeast-10 Conference match at 3:30 p.m. in West Haven, Conn.
