Women’s Tennis Stopped by Le Moyne, 9-0

Ravens host Bentley on Wednesday

RINDGE, N.H. (September 13, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated on Sunday afternoon, 9-0, by Le Moyne in Northeast-10 Conference play at Franklin Pierce.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 0-3 (0-2 Northeast-10), while Le Moyne improves to 3-0 (3-0 Northeast-10).

Freshman Kara Brazel (Glastonbury, Conn.) put up the strongest fight for Franklin Pierce across Sunday's six singles matches. Matched up against senior Allison Jones at third singles, Brazel picked up a trio of games along the way, before dropping a 6-1, 6-2 decision. Earlier in the day, Brazel took the court with senior Nicole Gilooly (East Sandwich, Mass.) at second doubles, where the duo took a pair of games but fell, 8-2, to Jones and sophomore Autumn Hogan.

In all, Le Moyne had four players win in both singles and doubles play on Sunday afternoon, led by sophomore Rithika Vajjiravelu, who won at both first singles and first doubles. She did not lose a game on the day, with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles following an 8-0 win at first doubles alongside freshman Tiffany Dun.

The Ravens return to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 16, when they remain home to host Bentley in a Northeast-10 Conference contest at 2 p.m. in Rindge.
