Women’s Tennis Blanked at Hartford, 7-0

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (April 17, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated, 7-0, on Sunday by Hartford in non-conference play at Hartford.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce concludes its 2015-16 season at 1-15, while Hartford improves to 5-14.

With Hartford as the host school, the teams played under Division I rules, where the three doubles matches were worth a combined one point. Hartford picked up the doubles point by sweeping the three doubles matches.

Across six singles matches, it was freshman Alexia Dasilva (Naugatuck, Conn.) who picked up the most games for the Ravens. She suffered a 6-0, 6-3 defeat at the hands of Hartford senior Angela Sabino at sixth singles.

In all, Hartford had five players who were victorious in both singles and doubles play on Sunday, led by sophomore Skyler Schaar. She rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles and also tallied a 6-0 sweep at first doubles alongside freshman Karolina Pilip.
