Women’s Tennis Blanked at Le Moyne, 6-0

Ravens host New Haven on Wednesday

Boulanger SYRACUSE, N.Y. (September 21, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated, 6-0, on Sunday morning in Northeast-10 Conference play at Le Moyne. The match was cut short due to inclement weather after the completion of the day's six singles matches.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 0-4 (0-4 Northeast-10), while Le Moyne improves to 3-5 (2-3 Northeast-10).

Le Moyne did not drop a set and surrendered just 13 games across 12 sets over Sunday's six singles matches. Junior Nicole Gilooly (East Sandwich, Mass.) had arguably the strongest showing for the Ravens, as she took four games from Le Moyne senior Jessica Geary at fourth singles, but ultimately dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision.

Le Moyne's top two singles players were especially dominant on Sunday, as each dropped only a single game. Freshman Rithika Vajjiravelu at first singles and Amica Benoit-Limosani at second singles posted identical, 6-0, 6-1 victories.

The Ravens return to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they return home to host New Haven in a Northeast-10 Conference match at 3 p.m.
