SPRINGFIELD, Mass. With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 1-10 (1-10 Northeast-10), while American International improves to 3-6 (2-6 Northeast-10).

Franklin Pierce took two of the three points in doubles play to take a 2-1 lead into singles play. At second doubles, sophomore Kirby Melbourne (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) and junior Leslie Rodgers (Westminster, Md.) teamed for a dominant, 8-3 win over Isabela Daudt and Eleanna Fulop. Meanwhile, Gilooly and Austin notched an 8-6 win at third doubles over Romane Wilmotte and Jasmine Byrd. AIC picked up a point at first doubles, as Marine Cartier and Ana Paula Simoes rolled to an 8-2 win over senior Natasha McCarthy (Rindge, N.H.) and junior Emily Parrett (Amherst, N.H.).
