Swimming Felled by Saint Michael’s, Merrimack

COLCHESTER, Vt. (November 10, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University women's swimming team took to the road for a tri-meet on Friday evening, as they traveled to Saint Michael's to take on a pair of Northeast-10 Conference foes. The Ravens were defeated twice on the night, falling to the host Purple Knights, 186-26, and coming up short against Merrimack as well, 172-24.

The Ravens were able to post only one top-five individual finish in the tri-meet. It came courtesy of freshman Mary Messina (Rindge, N.H.) in the 100-yard breaststroke, as she finished fifth, with a time of 1:23.71. Sophomore Jessica Greeley (Winslow, Maine) was right on her heels in sixth, at 1:24.99. Greeley was one of six Ravens to finish in sixth place on the day

Franklin Pierce also notched a fifth-place finish from the 200-yard freestyle relay team. Sophomore Tatyana Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Messina, freshman Josephine Krysinski (Olympia, Wash.) and freshman Emily DeVivo (Berlin, Conn.) combined to post a time of 1:55.27.

The Ravens return to the pool next weekend, on Nov. 17-18, when they travel to Potsdam, N.Y., for the North Country Invitational, hosted by SUNY Potsdam.
