Swimming Falls to Pace, Saint Rose in Tri-Meet at Pace

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (January 20, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women's swimming team returned to the competition pool for the first time in two months on Saturday, as they traveled to Pace University for a tri-meet against a pair of fellow Northeast-10 Conference members at the Goldstein Fitness Center. The Ravens suffered a pair of defeats, as they fell to the host Setters, 167-40, and to Saint Rose, 115-61.

The Ravens had three swimmers post top-three individual finishes along the way on Saturday in the Empire State. Freshman Josephine Krysinski (Olympia, Wash.) led the way with a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, with a time of 12:29.42.

Each of the other top-three finishes for Franklin Pierce was a third-place finish. Freshman Nicole McIntosh (North Pole, Alaska) posted a time of 1:05.48 in the 100-yard butterfly, freshman Mary Messina (Rindge, N.H.) swam a time of 27.55 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, and freshman Danielle Ward (Colorado Springs, Colo.) clocked in at 1:21.94 in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Ravens return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 27, when they travel to Norwich University for a tri-meet against the host Cadets and Massachusetts Dartmouth in Northfield, Vt.
