Heading Overseas: Women's Soccer to Spend Preseason in Spain

The Franklin Pierce Women’s Soccer team will spend eight days in August abroad in Spain. The trip will span from Aug. 18-26, with head coach Jonathan Garbar and his squad looking to take advantage of an opportunity to travel and bond as a team.

Five Ravens Earn Spots on NE10 Academic All-Conference Teams

RINDGE, N.H. (March 1, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University has had five student-athletes earn Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the fall season, as announced on Thursday by the Conference office. Senior forward Carly Canavan (Kingston, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Raegan Moulton (Baldwinville, Mass.) of the field hockey team, senior back Hamish Cadigan (Christchurch, New Zealand) and sophomore midfielder Noam Kolakofsky (Liman, Israel) of the men’s soccer team, and senior goalkeeper Casey Cook (Beverly, Mass.) of the women’s soccer team, were all honored by the league. The selected Ravens were among 84 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.
Women’s Soccer Announces Recruiting Class

The group features one international signee, in Viridiana Vázquez Kloss (Veracruz, Mexico), as well as 11 who will come to Rindge from the high school ranks.

Women’s Soccer Has Four Earn All-East Region Honors from United Soccer Coaches

RINDGE, N.H. (November 29, 2017) – An All-East Region First Team selection for senior back Gabriella Braga (Porto Alegre, Brazil) highlighted four United Soccer Coaches All-East Region selections for the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team, as announced on Tuesday night by the organization. In addition to Braga, both junior back Marta Turmo (Barcelona, Spain) and junior midfielder Nathalia Maria da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) landed on the All-East Region Second Team, while junior midfielder Bruna Tavares (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) took home All-East Region Third Team accolades.

The Southern New Hampshire University Penmen had clinched the Northeast-10 Conference women’s soccer title, while the Franklin Pierce University Ravens looked on in defeat. The Ravens were named runner-up, which was still a position no one expected them to finish in. This is the story of how they got there.
Women’s Soccer Stymied by LIU Post, 2-0, in NCAA Championship First Round

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (November 10, 2017) – On a cold, blustery Friday afternoon on Long Island, the run came to an end for the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team in the First Round of the NCAA Championship East Regional, hosted by Adelphi University at Motamed Field. The strong wind at their backs in the second half would not be enough for the fifth-seeded Ravens, who could not cut into a two-goal halftime deficit. Instead, it was fourth-seeded LIU Post which came away with a 2-0 victory.

(November 9, 2017) – For the first time since 2010, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team will return to the NCAA Championship on Friday afternoon, as it makes the 20th NCAA appearance in program history. The Ravens, who are the fifth seed in the East Region, will take on fourth-seeded LIU Post, in their first-round contest. Opening kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Motamed Field in Garden City, N.Y., on the campus of top seed Adelphi.

(November 6, 2017) – Returning to the event for the first time since 2010, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team was selected as the fifth seed in the NCAA Championship East Regional, as announced Monday evening by the NCAA. The Ravens, the Northeast-10 Conference runner-up, earned an at-large bid to the six-team tournament, which will see first and second rounds conducted on Friday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 12. Franklin Pierce will open its NCAA Championship on Friday at 2 p.m. against fourth-seeded LIU Post at Motamed Field, on the campus of top-seeded Adelphi, in Garden City, N.Y.

(November 4, 2017) – For the first time since 2010, and for the 11th time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team will play for the Northeast-10 Conference title. The Ravens won seven straight NE10 crowns from 2000 through 2006, and appeared in 10 of the 11 title games from 2000 through 2010, but have not been back since. On Sunday afternoon, Franklin Pierce returns to the league final, as the fourth seed, and travels to take on second seed and intrastate foe Southern New Hampshire. The Penmen make their second-ever appearance in the championship game, after winning the title in 2012. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Larkin Field in Manchester, N.H.

(November 3, 2017) – After a season in which it has returned to the top third of the Northeast-10 Conference standings and put together a strong case for an NCAA Championship berth, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team was rewarded with a quartet of All-NE10 selections on Friday. Sophomore midfielder Gabi Pereira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), senior back Gabriela Braga (Porto Alegre, Brazil), junior midfielder Nathalia Maria da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and junior back Marta Turmo (Barcelona, Spain) have all been named to the All-NE10 First Team, as announced by the Conference office. In addition, freshman back Evaline Rodrigues (Rehoboth, Mass.) has landed on the All-Rookie Team.
