Late Comeback for the Ravens, Not Able To Make Up 3 Goal Lead, Saint Rose Rolls Past 3-2

 Albany, N.Y. (October 6, 2015) Ravens Women's Soccer three goal deficit after 51 minutes of play, Nathalia Maria da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) scores two goals, but not enough to keep the Ravens in the game, Saint Rose Golden Knights take the conference win 3-2.

 

After todays match Ravens now 4-5 on the season and 2-5 in the NE-10, while Saint Rose moves on 8-1-2 on the season and 1-0 in the NE-10.

 

Saint Rose making their presence known in the first half, scoring the only two goals of the period. The first goal came in the 20th minute from Morgan Burchhart who made it past keeper Casey Cook who came out to make the save.

 

The second goal came in the 29th minute a header by Elisa Galbiati to give the Golden Knights the 2-0 lift over the Ravens.

 

In the 52nd minute the third Golden Knight goal was scored by Michaela Phillips who got the ball off a rebound.

 

Franklin Pierce with 38 minutes to make up their goal deficit, Da Silva was up for the challenge. In the 69th minute a crossed pass from Nalina Valaydon (Longueuil, Quebec) she was able to get one touch and tuck the ball into the net.

 

The Ravens next goal was in the 86th minute da Silva able to get the ball 22 yards out and send it past the keeper to make the game a one goal lead for the Golden Knights.

 

Not to make up the one goal in the last minutes of play, Golden Knights ranked ten in the country, take the 3-2 win.

 

The Ravens totaling 12 shots on the day, but only three on goal, while Saint Rose had 13 shots on goal. Keeper Casey Cook faced 16 shots and made 10 saves.

 

The Ravens return home October 10th at 7p.m. hosting Bentley in a Northeast-10 Conference match.
