RINDGE, N.H. (September 26, 2018) – Earlier this month, members of the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team donated their time to a Wheels 4 Paws fundraising event put on by the Monadnock Humane Society.

Wheels 4 Paws is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of animals. They work with local organizations to help save animals from abuse and neglect, and work to find loving homes for as many animals as possible. The event put on by the Monadnock Humane Society was a 100-mile fundraising ride in support of the Wheels 4 Paws initiative.

In attendance for the Ravens were: Zoe Totland, Morgan Riley, Bella Lima, Ella Brownson, Sarah Heckman, Sarah Waldrep, Caroline Lounsbury, Makenzie Minkler and Jillian Koop. The group helped provide setup support for the event.

Here is what some of the participating student-athletes had to say about the day:

“At the Monadnock Humane Society, we helped set up for the Wheels 4 Paws fundraiser.  It was so rewarding to help out the community by volunteering to set up for this event, and we got to see cute dogs who don't have a home, and give them some love while we were there! I would definitely help out at this location again.”- Makenzie Minkler

“It was an amazing experience to have the opportunity to help the community out with my teammates. Working with community members and dogs felt super rewarding. It is one of the best feelings to help out and give to those who volunteer their time to make our world a better place.” - Bella Lima

“Volunteering at the Humane Society was a great way to get to know community members. It was also a great way to see how hard the community works together to allow dog owners to show off their dog’s talents and their hard work of training them. It felt great to get to help them set up for their own fundraiser, and especially to be able to do it with my teammates.”- Morgan Riley
