RINDGE, N.H. (May 29, 2018) – Senior midfielder Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team has been named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-East Region Second Team, as announced earlier this month by the IWLCA.

Siblings are an enigma. Living and growing up together, continually competing and driving each other crazy at times. It does not get much easier when identical twins are involved. For the Lassows and Sweeneys, it is hard to imagine one without the other. All seniors at Franklin Pierce, Benjamin and Aaron Lassow have been vital cogs for the men’s lacrosse program, while Caitlin and Briana Sweeney have brought new life into the women’s lacrosse program, shouldering the team for the better portion of their collegiate careers.

(May 4, 2018) – Senior midfielder Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team has capped her career with a selection to the All-Northeast-10 Conference Third Team, as announced on Friday morning by the Conference office. In addition, freshman attack Caroline Lounsbury (Franklin, Mass.) and freshman midfielder Zoe Totland (Salt Lake City, Utah) have been named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (April 28, 2018) – Surrendering 15 first-half goals -- including a 9-4 run to end the stanza -- proved to be a hole too big for the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team in its season finale on Saturday afternoon at Pace Stadium. The Ravens put up 16 goals of their own on the day, but suffered a 26-16 loss on the road at Pace in Northeast-10 Conference play.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 25, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team held its own with No. 15 nationally ranked Merrimack over the final 42 minutes on Wednesday night at Sodexo Field. Unfortunately for the Ravens, Merrimack used the opening 18 minutes to build a 9-0 lead, which was never seriously threatened the rest of the way, as the Warriors cruised to a 21-14 win in Northeast-10 Conference play.

WORCESTER, Mass. (April 21, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team was outscored on the road in the first half on Saturday afternoon, but was still within shouting distance of Assumption at the halftime break, trailing 7-4. However, Assumption netted four of the first five goals of the second half to provide separation on the way to dealing the Ravens a 15-11 loss in Northeast-10 Conference play at Multi-Sport Stadium. Senior midfielders Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) and Briana Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) tallied four points each in defeat for the Ravens.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 14, 2018) – It was a baker’s dozen in the first half for the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon. The Ravens poured in 13 first-half goals on Senior Day to jump to a 13-4 halftime lead, en route to a 20-7 win over visiting American International in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Senior midfielder Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) and senior attack Anna Wilbert (Bohemia, N.Y.) led the way for Franklin Pierce, as each had seven points on three goals and four assists.

Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Briana Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) netted her 200th career point, while fellow senior Anna Wilbert (Bohemia, N.Y.) notched her 100th career goal, in a 15-12 victory against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Saint Michael’s College Wednesday afternoon on Sodexo Field. With the victory, the Ravens improve to 5-6, 3-6 NE10 while the Purple Knights remain winless overall and in league play.

Stonehill College rebounded from a 9-6 deficit and exploded for 10 unanswered goals as the guests hung on to defeat Northeast-10 Conference opponent Franklin Pierce University 17-16 Saturday afternoon on Sodexo Field. With the victory, the Skyhawks even up their mark at 5-5, 4-4 NE10 while the Ravens stumble to 4-6, 2-6 NE10.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 4, 2018) -- A 9-3 halftime deficit would prove to be too much for the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team to overcome on the road on Wednesday night. The Ravens put together a nine-goal second half to significantly close the gap, but Saint Anselm was able to hang on for a 14-12 win in Northeast-10 Conference play at Grappone Stadium.

In an entertaining marathon (two hours and fifteen minutes) which saw 36 combined goals between the two teams, the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse program led by Briana Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) and Caitlin Sweeney’s (Shirley, N.Y.) seven-point performances defeated Northeast-10 Conference foe Southern Connecticut State University 19-17 Saturday evening during Alumni Appreciation Night at Sodexo Field. With the victory, the Crimson and Grey even up their record at 4-4 overall and move to 2-4 NE10 while the Owls fall to 3-6, 2-4 NE10.

The Ravens continued to put the pedal down early in the second half, building a lead as high as seven goals on the way to a key, bounce-back, 13-10 win in Northeast-10 Conference play.

(March 24, 2018) – With a free-position goal 10:05 into the first half, senior midfielder Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) became just the third player in the history of the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team to tally 200 career points. Sweeney finished the day with eight points on seven goals and one assist, but it would not be enough for the Ravens, who fell behind 7-2 early and never recovered in an 18-14 loss on the road to Southern New Hampshire in Northeast-10 Conference play at Penmen Stadium.

(March 20, 2018) – Junior attack Bryanna Fazio and sophomore midfielder Nicole Delany scored six goals apiece on Tuesday afternoon, as No. 4 nationally ranked Le Moyne came to Sodexo Field and dealt the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team an 18-8 defeat. Senior midfielder Briana Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) scored three times to lead Franklin Pierce in the Northeast-10 Conference contest, while twin sister Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) added two goals and two assists.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (March 17, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team was nearly able to put together a signature victory over a top-10 program on the road on Saturday afternoon at Kathy Zolad Stadium. The Ravens led No. 7 nationally ranked New Haven 7-2 early, 10-6 at the half, and even 19-18 with five minutes to play, but could not quite seal the deal. Sophomore attack Caroline Maher tied the game with 4:57 remaining, and freshman midfielder Emily Holland followed with the game-winner just 48 seconds later. Holland added an insurance marker in the final minute, as New Haven escaped with the 21-19 victory in Northeast-10 Conference play.

(March 14, 2018) – Sophomore attack Alison Johnson piled up nine points on three goals and six assists for No. 2 nationally ranked Adelphi on Wednesday afternoon, as the home standing Panthers defeated the Franklin Pierce University women’s lacrosse team, 21-7. Senior midfielder Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) tallied a hat trick in defeat for Franklin Pierce, while sophomore attack Allison Stackpole scored a game-high four times for Adelphi in the Northeast-10 Conference contest at Motamed Field.
