#3 Adelphi Rolls By Franklin Pierce in Home Finale

RINDGE, N.H.  (April 26, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team concluded their home schedule on Wednesday afternoon with a 20-2 setback at the hands of Northeast-10 Conference foe and no. 3 nationally-ranked Adelphi University on Sodexo Field. With the win, the Panthers climb to 14-1 overall and 11-1 in league play while the Ravens drop to 7-7, 5-7 NE10.

Classmates Anna Wilbert (Bohemia, N.Y.) and Briana Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) combined for the only Raven tallies in the contest as the Crimson and Grey were outshot 34-9 over 60 minutes of play. Both squads combined to go 0-for-4 on free position attempts.

Leading the Panthers was Alison Johnson who tallied eight total points with three scores and five assists. Casey Zalewski racked up four goals while Jacqueline Jahelka and Kole Pollock added three goal games each.

Adelphi would score 10 goals in the opening 10 minutes of the contest to jump ahead 10-0. Pollock accounted for three markers in the scoring binge while Jahelka poured in two. Wilbert temporarily halted the run by connecting with Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) on a catch and shoot in front of the cage for the Ravens first goal.

After the Ravens tally, Adelphi would score nine straight as Zalewski would throw in three of the half's final five scores as the Panthers led 19-1 at the intermission. Briana Sweeney and Zalewski scored the only two goals of the final half as the Panthers won by an 18 goal margin.

Raven senior netminder Denise Hunt (Hull, Mass.) stopped five shots and took the loss to fall to 7-7 on the year. Hailey Peterson made three saves and improved to 14-1.

The Crimson and Grey will wrap up their 2017 season on the road Saturday at no. 1 nationally-ranked Le Moyne College with game-time slated for 11:00 a.m.
