All-Northeast-10 Conference selections

RINDGE, N.H. (May 5, 2017) – Junior midfielder Caitlin Sweeney (Shirley, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team has been named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference Second Team, as announced on Friday morning by the Conference office.

It is the first career All-Conference selection for Sweeney, who was previously named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 2015. Through May 3, she ranked ninth in the nation in goals per game (3.75) and 27th in points per game (4.50). Among NE10 leaders, through the quarterfinal round of the NE10 Championship, Sweeney ranked tied for second in goals (60) and shot attempts (129), third in draw controls (70), fourth in shots on goal (83) and fifth in points (72). Along the way, Sweeney added 12 assists and 31 ground balls, and caused 16 turnovers while committing 33 turnovers of her own.

Sweeney's 72 points were a career high and the third-highest total ever by a Raven, trailing only Lauren Stille '11, who tallied 87 in 2008 and 77 in 2009. Sweeney's 60 goals were also the third-most in school history, again trailing only Stille, who put home 73 in 2008 and 64 in 2009.

The Ravens (7-9) capped their 2017 season by qualifying for the NE10 Championship for the first time since 2009. It was the third postseason appearance in program history. In addition, the seven wins was one off the program record, established a year ago (8-8).
