EASTON, Mass. (March 26, 2013) – Senior midfielders Ashley Lamagdeleine (Westfield, Mass.) and Courtney Weber (Centerport, N.Y.) had two points each on Tuesday afternoon, on two goals and a goal and an assist, respectively, but the Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team was defeated on the road by No. 10 nationally ranked Stonehill, 23-6, in Northeast-10 Conference play at W.B. Mason Stadium. Senior attacker Heather Sullivan led the way for Stonehill with seven points on four goals and three assists.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 1-3 (0-2 Northeast-10), while Stonehill improves to 5-2 (4-0 Northeast-10).

The teams traded goals in the game's third minute, as senior attacker Kayla Green opened the scoring for Stonehill at the 2:24 mark, before Lamagdeleine answered with a free-position marker at 2:45. However, Stonehill scored the next five goals over the ensuing 7:30 -- including three more from Green, who finished with six, as well as Sullivan's first -- to take a 6-1 lead it would never relinquish.

Over a span of 8:54 after the midpoint of the first half, the two sides scored three times each to move the score to 9-4 in favor of Stonehill. Senior midfielder Lindsey Leach (Hamden, Conn.) and freshman attacker Nicole Dale (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) each found the back of the net for the Ravens, while Lamagdeleine put away her second and Weber picked up an assist. Sullivan scored her second of the day, and 20th of the season, for Stonehill.

The Skyhawks put the game out of reach by scoring the final seven goals of the opening stanza, over the final five minutes before the intermission. Twice they struck on free-position goals, while Sullivan notched her third of the game and sophomore attacker Cassandra McGill scored twice in the run, as Stonehill took a 16-4 lead into halftime.

The scoring quieted slightly in the second half, as Stonehill posted a 7-2 edge in the period to create the 23-6 final. Sophomore attacker Madeline Shopshire (Hyannis, Mass.) and Weber had the goals for the Ravens, while Green poured in two more and Sullivan scored her fourth and final goal of the afternoon for Stonehill.

Junior goalkeeper Jacqueline Jolles (Hamden, Conn.) started and played the first 43:18 in net for Franklin Pierce, before being pulled after the 20th Stonehill goal. She made seven saves against 27 shots on goal and suffered the loss (1-2) for the Ravens. Sophomore Ashley Armstrong started, played the first 40:42, made four saves against eight shots on goal and picked up the win (5-2) in net for Stonehill. Senior Caitlyn Taveira made three saves against five shots on goal over the final 19:18.
