Women's Hockey's Massaro Named NEWHA Player of the Week

RINDGE, N.H. (December 5, 2018) - Sophomore forward Marissa Massaro (Brockton, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team has been named New England Women's Hockey Alliance Player of the Week, for the week ending on Dec. 2, as announced on Tuesday night by the league office.

Massaro scored three times in a 1-1-0 week at home for the Ravens. She scored the game-winning goal in the first period of a 2-0 win against Morrisville State on Friday night, and then scored twice more in a 6-3 loss to the Mustangs on Saturday afternoon.

On the season, Massaro has played in all 12 games for the Ravens and is second on the team in scoring with 14 points on seven goals and seven assists. She has a power-play goal and two game-winning goals with 48 shots on goal.

It was the third NEWHA Player of the Week selection for the Ravens on the season.

The Ravens (7-5-0, 4-4-0 NEWHA) return to the ice on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8, when they travel to Buffalo State for a non-conference weekend series. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo State Ice Arena in Buffalo, New York.
