Arnold dishes out four assists

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (October 31, 2015) – Proving not all four-point games are created equal, junior forward Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska) followed up Friday night's two-goal, two-assist outing with a four-goal explosion on Saturday afternoon, leading the Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team to a 7-1 win over Becker in non-conference play at New England Sports Center. Ketterman is the first player in program history to score four goals in a game, and it marked her second career hat trick.

With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 2-0-0, while Becker -- a first-year program -- drops its inaugural game to fall to 0-1-0. Facing a pair of first-year programs, each in its inaugural contest, Franklin Pierce rolled up a 19-2 scoring margin while winning twice on the season's opening weekend.

The Ravens -- who enjoyed a 49-19 advantage in shots on goal on the afternoon -- opened the scoring early. Ketterman notched her first of the day at the 2:45 mark, when she jammed home a rebound for her third goal of the season, while junior defenseman Katie Flynn (East Sandwich, Mass.) and sophomore forward Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.) picked up the assists.

Just 48 seconds later, at the 3:33 mark, senior forward Francesca Paciello (Clinton, N.Y.) put home the eventual game-winner amid a scramble out front. Senior defenseman Hayley Arnold (Barre, Vt.) picked up the first of her four assists on the day on Paciello's first goal of the season.

Ketterman bookended the opening stanza's scoring with the first of her three power-play goals at the 16:10 mark, off Arnold's second helper of the frame. In fact, Ketterman would score the next three goals of the game, to finish off her hat trick and then some. Each of the next two came on the power play as well, at 7:36 and 17:40 of the second period. Brolsma assisted on both to round out her three-assist day, while junior forward Michelle Holmes (Goffstown, N.H.) added a helper on the former and Arnold chipped in on the latter.

Becker got on the board for the first time in program history before the second intermission, cutting the gap to 5-1. Freshman forward Bailey Coons picked up the historic goal for the Hawks, with freshman forwards Gina Beth Maganiello and Claudia Gee chipping in the assists, as the whole line got in on the act at the 18:53 mark.

Franklin Pierce tacked on a pair of goals in the third period to create the 7-1 final. At the 2:46 mark, senior forward Bryana Harron (Woburn, Mass.) notched her third of the season, off an assist from Flynn. Harron struck again, shorthanded this time, at the 15:28 mark, with Paciello and Arnold providing the helpers.

Junior goaltender Noelle White (Corona, Calif.) finished with 18 saves against 19 shots to pick up the win (1-0-0) in net for Franklin Pierce. Freshman Madison Rigsby (0-1-0) turned aside 42 of the 49 shots he faced for Becker.

The Ravens return to the ice on Friday, Nov. 6, when they play their first home game of 2015-16, hosting Saint Anselm in a New England Hockey Conference contest. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena in Winchendon, Mass.
