RINDGE, N.H. (May 9, 2013) -- The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and its ECAC East Women's Ice Hockey League announced recently that Franklin Pierce University and its women's ice hockey program will join the conference beginning with the 2014-15 season. The announcement was made by ECAC Interim Commissioner Steve Bamford.

WINCHENDON, Mass. (February 16, 2013) – Freshman forward Karsyn Baker (Detroit, Mich.) had a goal and an assist, freshman forward Haylea Barbieri (Plainville, Mass.) had a pair of assists, and the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team piled up 15 shots on goal in the final period on Saturday afternoon, but the team dropped a 3-2 decision to Sacred Heart at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Sophomore forward Alex Davis scored the game-winning goal in the third period for Sacred Heart.

(February 15, 2013) – After over a month on the road, and with her family in the stands, freshman forward Karsyn Baker (Detroit, Mich.) scored a shorthanded, game-winning goal and added two assists on Friday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team to a 3-2 win over Sacred Heart at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Freshman forward Michaela Faia (Malden, Mass.) scored twice in the victory for Franklin Pierce.

(February 9, 2013) – Freshman forward Colleen Doucette (Wakefield, Mass.) scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season on Saturday afternoon, but it would be the only goal of the day for the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team, which dropped a 3-2 decision to Saint Michael’s at Cairns Arena. Sophomore forward Kristen Spulecki scored both goals in the win for Saint Michael’s.

(February 8, 2013) – As Winter Storm Nemo began to pummel the region on Friday afternoon, the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team set about creating a blizzard of offense in Cairns Arena. Though Saint Michael’s survived for much of the contest against a barrage that saw Franklin Pierce pile up a 49-16 advantage in shots on goal, freshman co-captain Michelle Stock (Austin, Texas) put away her first career goal with just 3:06 to play to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Ravens to a 3-2 victory.

(January 16, 2013) – Freshmen forwards Colleen Doucette (Wakefield, Mass.) and Michaela Faia (Malden, Mass.) had a goal and an assist each on Wednesday afternoon as the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team attempted to mount a third-period comeback which ultimately fell short, resulting in a 4-2 loss to Massachusetts Boston at Clark Athletic Center Ice Arena. Senior forward Emily LaRosa bookended the game’s scoring to finish with a pair of goals in the victory for Boston.

(January 11, 2013) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team could not overcome a 37-16 shots on goal deficit on Friday afternoon, as it suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of host Castleton State on the first day of the Rutland Herald Invitational at Spartan Arena. Castleton State’s balanced attack produced four different goal scorers in the contest.

(December 8, 2012) – Freshman forwards Colleen Doucette (Wakefield, Mass.), Francesca Paciello (Clinton, N.Y.) and Michaela Faia (Malden, Mass.) all scored in a span of 4:07 in the second period on Saturday afternoon to break a scoreless tie and propel the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team to a 4-0 win at Plymouth State. Junior goaltender Amelea Gray (Bozeman, Mont.) stopped all 24 shots she faced to earn her first shutout of the season.
