The 2023-24 academic year marks a decade as head coach at Franklin Pierce University for Tyler Bishop. His reign teed off on June 13^th, 2013 when he was named full-time head coach of both the men’s and women’s golf programs. In the last decade, he has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year six times, five on the women’s side and once for the men’s program.

During the 2022-23 season he earned Northeast-10 Women’s Golf Coach of the Year for a fifth time. On the women’s side, he led the team to five total tournament wins including the Northeast-10 Championship which the program has now won four years in a row. During the fall season, Phisonlaya Ruayruen came in first place individually twice and Kesinee Prukmathakul came in first place individually once. On the men’s side Bishop led the program to a pair of tournament victories including a come from behind win during the programs Franklin Pierce Invitational when the team clawed back from a 12-stroke deficit to take home first place. The 2021-22 campaign was the first full collegiate golf season coming off the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Franklin Pierce women, in particular, hit the ground running. Paced by wunderkind Kesinee Prukmathakul, the Ravens won each of the first four tournaments they entered in the fall, capped by their third straight (fourth overall) NE10 title, obtained via a dominant, 51-stroke victory over the rest of the field. The freshman Prukmathakul took medalist honors in all four events, including a second-round 68 (-4) to storm to a two-shot win at NE10s. For their part, the men took sixth at the NE10 Championship. Both teams would qualify for NCAA play in the spring, with the men finishing 18th at the Atlantic/East Regional and the women taking 10th at the East Regionl. Prukmathakul was the NE10 Player and Rookie of the Year, while Bishop collected women's Coach of the Year accolades for the second straight season. Across the two teams, seven Ravens earned All-NE10 honors.

In 2020-21, all competition took place in the spring, on account of the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the cancelation of the fall season. The Ravens packed plenty of success into the shortened season though, as both teams qualified for NCAA Regional play. The women captured their second straight NE10 Championship, and third overall, with a 17-shot victory over Stonehill, while the men finished as runners-up at the league championship for the second time in program history. The women went on to finish eighth at the East Regional, while the men took 10th at the Atlantic/East Regional. Bishop was named Coach of the Year on the women's side, after guiding Zoe Yamamoto to NE10 Player of the Year accolades. In all, six Ravens earn All-NE10 nods between the two teams, including four First Team honorees.

Though the 2019-20 season saw the spring portion of the campaign cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Franklin Pierce women's team put together a downright dominant fall season. The Ravens won each of the five tournaments they entered, including a 27-stroke victory at the NE10 Championship to claim the program's second league title. For their part, the men took fourth at a rain-shortened NE10 Championship. Jinnapat Rittawee was named both NE10 Player and Rookie of the Year for the women, highlighting seven total All-NE10 picks between the two teams.

In 2018-19, Bishop was able to guide the men's team to NCAA regional for the third straight year, and the Ravens went on to finish tied-sixth in the 20-team Atlantic/East Regional field. The men's side won tournaments at Southern New Hampshire, Assumption and Saint Rose on the year, plus a tied-first finish at the team's home tournament. Franklin Pierce was tied-third at the NE10 Championship. Meanwhile, the women won tournaments at Merrimack and Assumption, as well as their own home tournament, and were the runners-up at the NE10 Championship. Across the two teams, Franklin Pierce boasted eight All-NE10 selections in 2018-19, highlighted by Zoe Yamamoto and Taylor Hartley, who were both named to the First Team on the women's side.

The 2017-18 seasons were extremely successful for the Franklin Pierce golf programs. The women's squad won their first ever Northeast-10 Conference Championship defeating three-time champion host Merrimack College by two strokes and earned the leagues inaugural automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Super Regional. At the regionals, the Raven women placed eighth and Camden Morrison advanced for the second straight year to the NCAA Championship where she finished tied for 19th place. On the season, the women brought home six tournament titles and two third place finishes as well. Bishop coached the back-to-back NE10 Women's Golfer of the Year Morrison, who also earned a NE10 First Team nod. Zoe Yamamoto joined Morrison on the First Team while Sarah Daley and Taylor Schmidt were chosen to the All-NE10 Second Team. 

On the men's side, FPU golf reached the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional for the second consecutive year and came within one stroke of being crowned the Regional Champions. At the regionals, FPU never slid below second place en route to their first-ever NCAA Championship berth. At Muscle Shoals, Ala., the Raven men played for the national title and finished in 19th place. During the regular season, the men's team recorded four top-three finishes including a team title at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout. Bishop's guidance helped lead freshman Dylan Plis to the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year award and an All-NE10 First Team selection. Keeton Foster joined his teammate with his second consecutive NE10 Second Team nod. 

In 2016-17, Bishop led the men's program to four top-five finishes during the campaign which included a third-place finish in the spring at the Le Moyne Mike Bello Spring Invitational. The strong regular season by the men's program led to one postseason honor as freshman Keeton Foster was named to Northeast-10 Conference Second Team after earning the NE10 Rookie of the Week award four times over the course of the campaign. Under Bishop's leadership, the Ravens earned their second-ever NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional berth in program history which culminated in a trip to Daniels, West Virginia during the middle of May. The Ravens finished 16th at the Regional and were led by freshman Sam Myers who turned in a 223 (+7) scorecard over three days of golf which put the newcomer in a tie for seventh place overall.

The women's program took a huge leap in 2016-17 as they took home four first place and four second place finishes in tournaments. Bishop was named the NE10 Women's Golf Coach of the Year for the first time as he led the women's squad to their third straight second-place finish at the NE10 Championship. Camden Morrison was awarded the NE10 Women's Golfer of the Year honor and Zoe Yamamoto was chosen as the NE10 Women's Golf Rookie of the Year. Morrison and Yamamoto were selected to the NE10 First Team and Sarah Daley earned Second Team honors. Morrison was impressive all year as she earned six medals and three-second place finishes. Her strong regular season resulted in the first-ever women's golf selection to the NCAA Division II East Super Regional. Morrison competed as an individual and didn't disappoint. She placed second overall across the three days, compiling a 217 (+1) scorecard. Morrison then advanced to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship and tied for 47th place with a four-round total of 322 (+34).

During 2015-16, Bishop led the crimson and grey to two top-five finishes during the men's fall slate. At the NEIGA Championships, the Ravens placed fifth as senior Travis Landry was selected to the All-New England Division II Team. In the spring, FPU's men earned two top-five finishes including third place at the Dowling Memorial and fourth at the Bentley Newport Division II Invitational. The Raven women matched their second-place finish in the inaugural Northeast-10 Championship last season with another second-place finish this season during fall schedule. The women's squad also placed first in the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational and the Le Moyne Fall Shootout. They continued their strong play in the spring with a third-place finish in the Barton Intercollegiate and a first-place finish at the Lady Penmen Spring Classic. 

The 2014-15 campaign was one in which both Ravens golf teams saw success. The men's squad posted top-five finishes in each of six tournaments in the fall portion of its season, highlighted by a T-4th at the Northeast-10 Championship and a third-place finish at the New England Championship. For its part, the women notched a quartet of top-four finishes and capped off their return season with a second-place finish in the inaugural edition of the Northeast-10 Women's Golf Championship.

The men’s program has proven to be one of the most competitive in the Northeast-10 Conference the past several years, including reaching the 2012 NCAA Division II Tournament and winning multiple events during the 2012-13 season. For the women's program, 2014-15 marks a return to the varsity level after being discontinued a decade ago.

Bishop has extensive ties to the game of golf and Franklin Pierce University. He was a three-year standout as a closer for the Ravens baseball program from 2006-08. Bishop, who ranks second in program history with 53 career appearances, helped lead the Ravens to three NCAA East Regional championships as a player. After graduation, he joined the program as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons and helped lead the team to the 2010 regional championship and a semifinal appearance in the Division II World Series.

He earned his MBA in leadership from Franklin Pierce in the spring of 2010 and moved into the role of Development Officer for the University, which he has served in for the past two-and-a-half years.

Bishop has also been long involved in the game of golf as his family features multiple Head PGA Professionals, including his father, Ted, who is the Director of Golf and General Manager of CandiaWoods in Candia, N.H. Bishop’s brother, Shaun, is the head pro and Director of Golf at The Oaks Golf Links.

Bishop has a wife Gina, a Franklin Pierce field hockey player from the Class of 2010, and a son River. They reside in Wilton, N.H.
