Bio

Taylor Schmidt returns to as assistant coach for the men's and women's golf teams at Franklin Pierce University in fall of 2023. After graduating from Pierce in 2018, Schmidt became the team’s graduate assistant and later served as assistant coach through the 2020-21 academic year, which means this coming season will be her fourth year as a coach with the program. During her collegiate career in Rindge, Schmidt (bio) was a two-time captain on the women's golf program that culminated in a trip to the 2018 NCAA Division II Tournament East Super Regional, a Northeast-10 Conference Second Team choice and one selection as the NE10 Women's Golfer of the Week.

During her senior campaign, Schmidt was a runner-up twice at the FPU Fall Invitational where she shot a 153 (+9) and the Assumption College Invitational in the spring which she turned in a 77 (+5) scorecard. In the Fall at the Ravens home tournament, she shot one of the lowest rounds of her career at 75 (+3). At the NCAA Division II Tournament East Super Regional, Schmidt totaled a 244 (+28) en route to a 47th place finish with her low score 79 (+7) coming during the first round. 

Before arriving in Rindge, Schmidt played for the varsity golf team at Westfield where she was a team captain during her final season. She qualified for the Western Massachusetts Championship all four years and qualified for the State and New England Championship her senior campaign. A two-sport athlete, Schmidt also competed for the track and field program. 

A native of West Springfield, Mass., Taylor graduated from Franklin Pierce as a health science major and an anthropology minor in May 2018.
