Northeast-10 women's golf awards

MANSFIELD, Mass. (June 8, 2022) -- For the third straight year, the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team has the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year. For the second straight year, it boasts the NE10 Coach of the Year as well. Freshman Kesinee Prukmathakul (Bangkok, Thailand) has been selected as both NE10 Player and Rookie of the Year, while head coach Tyler Bishop '08, '10 has been tabbed as NE10 Coach of the Year, as announced on Wednesday afternoon by the league office. The awards highlighted a banner day for the Ravens, who had four others earn All-NE10 accolades as well.

It is the fifth Player of the Year selection in program history, as Prukmathakul becomes the fourth different Raven to earn the honor, joining Zoey Yamamoto '21 (2020-21), Jinnapat Rittawee (2019-20), and Camden Morrison '18 (2016-17 and 2017-18). It is also the third time Franklin Pierce has had a player earn Rookie of the Year plaudits, as Prukmathakul joins Yamamoto Rittawee (2019-20) and Yamamoto (2016-17). Bishop was named as NE10 Coach of the Year for the fifth time overall, including the fourth time on the women's side.

Prukmathakul was also named to the All-NE10 First Team, where she was joined by fellow Thai freshman Phisonlaya Ruayruen (Chiangmai, Thailand). In addition, three Ravens landed on the All-NE10 Third Team: junior Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.), junior Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) and sophomore Kayla Schuberth (Wrentham, Mass.). It is the third career All-NE10 honor for Godek, while Schuberth was honored for the second straight year. The remaining Ravens all earned their first career All-NE10 accolades.

Prukmathakul was one of the region's most-dominant golfers all season long. She won four straight tournaments in the fall, including the individual NE10 title, while leading Franklin Pierce to its third straight league championship. Prukmathakul capped her season as the low Raven at the NCAA Championship East Regional, where she finished tied-12th.

For her part, Ruayruen had a year that would have put her in the conversation for Rookie of the Year, had her fellow teammate and countrywoman not been so dominant. Ruayruen was inside the top 10 at the NE10 Championship, where she finished solo-seventh, and was inside the top 30 at the East Regional, where she was tied-29th.

Godek had her best performance of the year at the NE10 Championship, where she took third place, and later followed up with a tied-45th finish at the NCAA regional. Leandro was 14th at NE10s, while Schuberth was 15th, and the pair were both part of a tie for 67th at the East Regional.
