Morrison Tied For 16th at 2018 NCAA Championship

HOUSTON (May 16, 2018) Franklin Pierce University women's golfer Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) teed off early Wednesday morning for her first round at the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship.

The senior tied for 16th place overall after concluding round one with a 73 (+1) scorecard. She is the fourth-ranked individual as she trails the pairing of Casey Wild (Tarleton State) and Kiira Riihijarvi (University of Tampa) by four strokes (69, -3).

She is tied for first in par 3 scoring (2.50, -2) and third in total birdies (4). Morrison began her day on the course by shooting one over on two holes and parring two others before dropping a birdie on the short 14th hole. She held a +4 scorecard on the front nine after two consecutive bogeys and bounced back putting home three straight birdies including one on the par 5 seventh hole to finish the day at one over par.

The University of Indianapolis leads the team portion of the championship at 286 (-2).  

Morrison will tee off from the first hole tomorrow at 10:20 a.m. central time.
