BIG RAPIDS. Mich. (May 9, 2018) For the second straight season, Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) of the no. 12 regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce University women's golf team has moved on to the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship after being the number one ranked individual at the NCAA Division II Tournament East Super Regional held in Big Rapids, Mich.

The Raven women shot a 309 (+21) Monday, a 329 (+41) Tuesday and a 311 (+23) Wednesday to finish their first regional tournament in eighth place at 949 (+85). FPU was one of only two teams to record an eagle over the course of the three rounds on the par 72, 6,158-yard Katke Golf Course.

"We had an amazing experience out here in Big Rapids," said head coach Tyler Bishop. "This was the first time our team qualified for regionals and I am so proud of our young ladies. We really rebounded after yesterday and today we had the fourth lowest team score of the day (Wednesday)."

Morrison advances to the NCAA Championships which will be held from Wednesday, May 16th to Saturday, May 19th at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. Last year as a junior, Morrison tied for 47th place out of 72 golfers with a 322 (+34) card. This year at the regionals, she tied for fifth place with Annika Haynes of the University of Indianapolis at 222 (+6). She shot a low round of 71 (-1) Monday, led the field in total pars (40) and ranked second in par 4 scoring (4.08, +2). Joining Morrison at the National Championships are Makenzie Torres of Findlay University and Krstyal Hu of Ashland University.

"Camden showed great poise all day today," said Bishop. "She knew what was on the line and that she had to play well today to qualify for nationals. Camden never wavered under pressure; she was in control the whole day and played a great round of golf. It is an amazing achievement to qualify for her second straight Championship; we are so proud of her and can't wait to see her perform next week in Houston."

Sophomore Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) tied for 30th place after shooting a three-round total of 237 (+21). Yamamoto bookended a Tuesday 81 (+9) with two 78s (+6). Senior and co-captain Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) produced a 244 (+48) and tallied her low score of 79 (+7) Monday morning.

Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) and Rosa Jones (Mastic, N.Y.) concluded the Raven scoring with 246 (+30) and 266 (+50) scorecards.
