Morrison Finishes Second, Ravens Third at Corbett Classic

ERIE, Pa. (September 11, 2017) The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team competed at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic hosted by Gannon University this past Sunday and Monday at the Lake Shore Country Club.

The Ravens finished in third place as they dropped one spot in the standings. FPU racked up a total score of 633 (+57) over the two days which was 10 strokes behind first place finisher Ashland University and only four back from second place finisher Kutztown University. Ashland moved up to first place while Kutztown fell from first to second.

Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) was one of two Ravens who carded within the top-5. The senior captain knocked one stroke off her day one score to finish at 149 (+5) which was good enough for second place. Morrison finished only one stroke behind medalist Krystal Knight from Merrimack College. Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) tied for fifth by turning in 153 (+9) scorecard.

Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) knocked off six strokes from her first 18 on Monday by finishing at 80 (+8) and 166 (+22) across the two days. She improved her spot in the standings by 14 places from 52nd to 38th. Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) tacked on seven strokes in round two as she finished in a tie for 47th place at 169 (+25). Taylor Hartley (Battle Ground, Wash.) took off five strokes during her final 18 to place 62nd at 173 (+29).

The Ravens travel to Le Moyne on Sunday to compete in their third tournament of the campaign.
