Morrison, Yamamoto, Daley and Foster Named All-Conference

RINDGE, N.H. (June 23, 2017) Reigning Northeast-10 Conference Women's Golfer of the Year, Franklin Pierce University women's golfer Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) and current Rookie of the Year Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) added another accolade to their successful 2016-17 campaign after their selection to the NE10 First Team it was announced Friday morning by the league offices. Teammate Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) was chosen to the women's Second Team and on the men's side, freshman Keeton Foster (Chesterfield, N.H.) earned a Second Team nod.

Morrison and Yamamoto became the first major award winners in program history two weeks ago when the duo and head coach Tyler Bishop swept the women's major awards. Morrison, Yamamoto and Daley were key to the women's programs success as they finished second for the third consecutive year at the NE10 Women's Golf Championship. Foster, a four-time NE10 Rookie of the Week honoree led the men's squad to their second ever NCAA Regional selection.

Morrison, a six-time NE10 Golfer of the Week became the first ever Raven to golf at the NCAA Tournament. The junior team captain placed second overall with a three day score of 217 (+1) at the NCAA Division II East Super Regional and qualified for the National Championships where she recorded a four round scorecard of 322 (+34). Over the course of the season, Morrison placed within the top-10 10 times including six medals (first place) and three second place finishes. Her most impressive showing of the year came way back on September 4th at the season opening FPU Fall Invitational where she led the field with a 69 (-3) season-best showing. She also stroked a 145 (+1) across two days at the Trevecca Fall Invitational on October 24-25.    

Yamamoto, who earned weekly rookie honors seven times this past school year, had a successful freshman campaign as she earned eight top-10 finishes including two medals. She took part in the Kutztown University Fall Invitational from October 2-3 and concluded play with a 154 (+14) showing which gave her the first medal of her collegiate career. Later on in the year at the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Invitational (April 9-10), Yamamoto tied with Morrison atop the leaderboard at 159 (+17). Two weeks before the Cottrell Invite, she collected her only other top-five finish as she tied for fourth at the Battle at the Bay (162, +20). Yamamoto placed sixth four times over the course of the year and shot a season-low 75 (+3) at day two of the NE10 Championship Tournament.

Daley earned the Golfer of the Week award once this year after leading the Ravens to a second place finish at the Battle at the Bay in the spring. She recorded her highest finish of the season at the Battle at the Bay as she placed second with a 159 (+17) showing. Daley took one stroke off her day one score, had three birdies on her scorecard along with 14 pars and finished only one stroke behind the medalist. The sophomore recorded two other top-10 finishes with a seventh place scorecard at the FPU Fall Invitational (82, +10) and a ninth place finish to close out the spring slate at the Saint Rose Spring Classic (169, +25).

For the men, Foster chipped in four top-11 finishes throughout the 2016-17 season. His highest finish came at the Barton Intercollegiate on March 13-14 when he shot a three round score of 227 (+11) en route to a seventh place scorecard. Foster shot a 148 (+4) and tied for ninth place at the Quechee Division II Challenge in the fall which rounded out his top-10 performances. The newcomer placed 11th twice, once in the fall and once in the spring. In the fall he completed the 82nd Annual Division II NEIGA Championship at 155 (+11). A few months later, Foster paced the Ravens with another 11th-place finish at the Mike Bello Invitational. (153, +9). He leapfrogged 17 spots on the individual leaderboard as he improved his round two score by five strokes leading the Ravens to third place, their highest finish of the year. At the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional, Foster drew a 235 (+19) over three days finishing in 64th place.
