Ravens Rank Second In Day One at Saint Rose

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (April 21, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team traveled to the Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, N.Y. to take part in their final regular season rounds at the Saint Rose Spring Classic.

The Crimson and Grey currently rank second out of seven Northeast-10 Conference teams with a 325 (+37) on the par 72, 5,730 yard 18 hole course. They trail leader Merrimack College by only three strokes and hold a four stroke lead over third place Le Moyne College.

Team captain Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) concluded day one atop the leaderboard with a 73 (+1) score. Two other teammates rank within the top-10 as Zoe Yamamoto (Honalulu, Hawaii) is tied for fifth place at 80 (+8) and Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) ends day one tied for ninth with an 84 (+12) score. Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) tied for 14th with an 88 (+16) scorecard while Rosa Jones (Mastic, N.Y.) finished her first 18 in 20th at 91 (+19).

Sophomore Shannon Slater (Stafford Springs, Conn.) also made the trip to Saint Rose as an individual golfer and ended Friday in a tie for 32nd at 97 (+25).

The Ravens will look to pass Merrimack tomorrow in their final 18 of the year and capture their fourth team title this season.
