All The Awards: Raven Golf Snags Every NE10 Weekly Award

RINDGE, N.H. (April 11, 2017) – For the first time this year, the Franklin Pierce University golf programs have swept both the Northeast-10 Conference women's and men's golf weekly honors. Women's team captain Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) earned the NE10 Player of the Week honor while Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) received the Rookie of the Week nod. For the men, Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.) was selected as the NE10 Player of the Week while Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) snagged the NE10 Rookie of the Week award.

Morrison's selection was her fifth top player honor and Yamamoto notched her sixth Rookie of the Week award. Simpson was chosen as the league's best athlete for the first time this season and Myers grabbed his second rookie honor.

The women's award sweep marked the fourth time this year the Crimson and Grey have taken home both accolades and the second time for the men's squad.

Morrison medaled for the fifth time this season and for the third time in the last four events she's golfed in. She shot a 159 (+17) on the par 71, 5,809-yard course as the Ravens won their third invitational overall and earned their seventh top-three finish of the campaign. It's the second time this spring season she's been recognized.

Yamamoto co-medaled with Morrison in West Chester. She jumped from third into a tie with Morrison after shooting a two-round total of 159 (+17). This was the second time this season Yamamoto earned medalist honors and her third top-five finish.

Simpson helped lead the charge for the men's program as he finished in fifth place, his best finish of the year at 151 (+9). He dropped one stroke off his first day score as the Ravens placed fourth, their highest ranking of the campaign.

Myers fell one place to a tie for 11th at 154 (+12) during the two days of competition at West Chester over the weekend. He shot a 76 (+5) on the first day and added only two strokes to his second day score as the Ravens improved one spot in the team leader board.

The men's team will return to action on Friday at Le Moyne and women's squad will travel to Saint Rose in two weeks for their second to last competition.
