WHISPERING PINES, N.C. (March 17, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce women's golf team began their spring schedule on Friday at the Country Club of Whispering Pines for the Browngolf Intercollegiate hosted by Mercyhurst.

The Crimson and Grey are currently in third place of 12 in the team standings with a 345 (+57) and are only two strokes behind Chowan University for the second spot and are nine strokes back from West Chester for first place.

Individually, freshman golfer Zoe Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) is tied for fifth place with an 82 (+10) through the first 18 holes. Teammate and team captain Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) is one stroke behind Yamamoto at 83 (+11).

Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) golfed an 88 (+16) and ranks within the Intercollegiate top-25. Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) (92, +20) and Rosa Jones (Mastic, N.Y.) (95, +23) round out the Raven day one performances.

The Ravens will head back to the links tomorrow and look to move up in the standings.
