Morrison cruises to 77 to lead Women’s Golf to second place finish at Northeast-10 Championships

SANDS POINT, N.Y. (September 26, 2015) – Sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) found her groove on Saturday, shooting two birdies en route to a 77 to pair with her previous day score of 82 giving her a third place finish, and leading the Franklin Pierce University Ravens Women's Golf team to a second place finish overall at the Northeast-10 Championship at The Village Club of Sands Point.

Behind Morrison was classmate Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) who improved her previous day score as well. Haynes finished four shots behind Morrison with her season-best score of 81 (+8) while also knocking down a birdie to finish as the other Raven in the top five.

Fellow sophomore Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) put up the third-best score for the Ravens on the day, bringing in a card of 86 (+13), putting her in a tie for 11th. Freshman Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) and Shannon Slater (Stafford Springs, Conn.) brought up the final two spots for the Ravens. Daley was much improved from her day one performance, shooting a 90 (+17) to close out her tournament, while Slater carded a 105 (+32) in her effort.

Merrimack took both the individual and team championships on the board. As a team, they took a 51 shot lead over the Ravens to take the win, while LeMoyne and Southern New Hampshire follow in third and fourth. Merrimack's Alessandra Ricigliano win the individual championship by shooting a 78 to pair with a 74 for a total of 152 to take the win. Teammate Krystal Knight would take second in front of Morrison by shooting a two-day total of 153, one shot shy of her teammate, respectively.

The Ravens return to the links next weekend, October 3 and 4 when they travel to LeMoyne.
