Haynes BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (September 20, 2014) – Freshman Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) put together a round of 87 (+15) on Saturday at the par-72 Timber Banks Golf Club and sits tied for third individually for the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team after the first day of the Le Moyne Invitational. As a team, the Ravens carded a 368 and sit second at the five-team event.

The Ravens currently sit 20 shots in back of host Le Moyne's "Green" squad (348), which leads after the first 18 holes. Behind Franklin Pierce, it's another 40 shots back to East Stroudsburg (408) in third, Le Moyne's "Gold" squad (427) is fourth and Southern New Hampshire (457) is fifth.

Haynes was one of just six golfers to break 90 at Timber Banks on Saturday, though four of those six were from the leading Le Moyne team. Two other Ravens narrowly missed 90, as freshman Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) carded a 91 (+19) and freshman Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) turned in a 92 (+20). Also competing for the crimson and grey on Saturday were freshmen Ashley Chubbuck (Windsor, Maine) and Katy Lounsbery (Middletown, N.Y.), who shot 98 (+26) and 107 (+35), respectively.

Individually, Haynes is just two shots off the lead and tied for third with Samantha Miller of East Stroudsburg. Le Moyne's Kayla Burt leads the way at 85 (+13), while her teammate, Ashley Mayse, is second at 86 (+14). Also from Le Moyne, Emily Steckel currently holds down the fifth position at 88 (+16).

The Le Moyne Invitational concludes with its second round on Sunday at Timber Banks Golf Club.
