Peirce, Davies Selected As All-Conference Bowlers

RINDGE, N.H. (March 26, 2018)  Franklin Pierce University sophomore women's bowler Krysta Peirce (Casco, Mich.) has been named to the 2018 East Coast Conference (ECC) First Team it was announced last Friday night at the league awards banquet.

Pierce was joined by teammate and senior Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.) on the All-Conference Second Team. This is the second straight year Pierce was honored by the ECC as she was a Second Team selection last year while Davies earns her third straight All-Conference nod.

Peirce and Davies were two of the five Raven bowlers that tallied the second highest baker game in program history with a 260 during the first day of the Golden Bears Classic on February 9, 2018. The duo also rolled a 259 and 257 for top-five marks in team annals during the season-opening tourney, the KU Fall Bud Whitman Memorial on October 14, 2017.

The Ravens ended their 2017-18 campaign at 49-41 (.544) as they placed second in the ECC Championship Tournament, their highest finish in program history. The Crimson and Grey earned their 200th career win with a 4-2 series decision in an elimination game during the championship round versus eventual conference champion no. 23 nationally-ranked Lincoln Memorial University. 

Peirce, a Golden Bear Classic All-Tournament First Team selection also cracked the top-10 at the Hawk Flight Invitational for Crohn's and Colitis Awareness finishing sixth out of the field of 110 bowlers with a 196.80 average. Over the course of the season, Peirce had an 18.83 traditional average, a 19.13 baker average and an overall mark of 19.03.

Davies, a one-time ECC Bowler of the Week and the Golden Bear Classic Tournament MVP held a 19.86 baker frame average to take home the MVP hardware. On the year, Davies rolled an 18.66 traditional mark, an 18.15 baker average and an overall total of 18.30.
