Ravens Bowling Picks Up Two More Wins in Jersey

STRATFORD, N.J. (November 4, 2017) – The no. 22 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University women's bowling competed in the second day of the New Jersey Jamboree Saturday morning at the 30 Strikes Bowling Center in Stratford, N.J.

On Saturday, the Ravens went 2-2 as they knocked over 3,613 pins. Their wins came against Kutztown University (962-843) and no. 13 nationally-ranked Monmouth University (962-893). The .500 mark on the day moved the Crimson and Grey to 14-9 overall on the year while they are 5-4 with a total pinfall of 7,950 across nine games this weekend.

Sophomore Alexa Asta (Jackson, N.J.) started and played in all five games for the Ravens including the bye. She dropped a team-leading total of 970 pins. Teammates Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.) (942 pins), Krysta Peirce (Casco, Mich.) (909 pins) and Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) (854 pins) also appeared in all five contests for the Crimson and Grey as well.

In the Ravens first win of the day versus Kutztown, Davies rolled a day and game-best 226 score for FPU while Asta followed with a 200 even mark. Asta also racked up the squad-high in the setback to Morgan state at 202.

Nicolette Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) recorded her highest mark of the second day in the win against Monmouth with a team-high 224. Kelly completed her 10 strings at 199, her best game of the day, which was the second-best tally for the Ravens.

The Ravens wrap up their three-day trip tomorrow.
