Davies, Peirce and Marcure Named to ECC All-Conference Teams

RINDGE, N.H. (March 30, 2017)  Franklin Pierce University women's bowler Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.) has been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) All-Conference First Team it was announced last Friday evening at the leagues awards banquet.

Davies was joined by teammates Krysta Peirce (Lenox, Mich.) and Jessica Marcure (Attleboro, Mass.) who were selected to the All-Conference Second Team. This is the second straight season that Davies was named by league coaches to the First Team while Peirce and Marcure were first time All-Conference honorees.

Davies, Peirce and Marcure were three of the five Raven bowlers that set the program record for top baker game with a 268 score during the final day of the KU Invitational on January 22, 2017.

The no. 20 nationally-ranked Ravens concluded the year at 52-42 including their second consecutive fourth place finish in the ECC Championship Tournament. The team earned their signature win of the year during day one of the Hawk Classic on November 18, 2016 against the previously no. 2 ranked and defending NCAA Champion Stephen F. Austin State University by a 1,015-900 margin.  

The Crimson and Grey also received their highest national ranking in program history as they were ranked 17th in the country during the 2016 National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) November National Poll.

Davies, the Preseason Bowler of the Year choice and a one-time ECC Bowler of the Week completed 1,046 frames on the year. She averaged 18.65 in baker matches, 18.93 during traditional games and 18.75 overall. She was a two-time All-Tournament Team selection at the Golden Bear Classic and the New Jersey Jamboree.

Peirce, a two-time ECC Rookie of the Week, rolled 721 frames on the season. She compiled an 18.08 baker frame average with a 17.88 traditional frame average and an 18.01 overall mark.

Marcure finished 552 frames during the course of the year. She racked up a 17.60 baker frame mark, an 18.07 traditional frame average and a 17.73 overall average. Marcure joined Davies on the All-Tournament Team at the New Jersey Jamboree.
