Bowling Stands in 12th After Day One in New Jersey

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (October 28, 2016) - The Franklin Pierce women's bowling team traveled to Fairleigh Dickinson University for day one of the New Jersey Jamboree at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, N.J.

The New Jersey Jamboree is a three day tournament that takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Crimson and Grey went 3-1 on the day to improve to 13-5 on the year. The squad currently stands in 12th of 27 teams with a total pinfall of 4,423.

FPU opened the tournament with a 941-915 victory over no. 22 nationally ranked, Prairie View A&M. The Ravens then reeled off two more wins over Howard (862-807) and New Jersey City (897-790) before falling to no. 17 nationally ranked Kutztown (892-910) for the first time this season. The Crimson and Grey defeated their rivals last week at the Sacred Heart Bowl for the Cure by a 946-777 margin.

The team have gone 4-3 this season against nationally ranked opponents.

The Rindge Ravens return to the alley tomorrow for the second day of competition.
