Bowling Fifth After Day Two at Golden Bear Classic

READING, Pa. (February 13, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University bowling team finished 4-2 in their six matches in the Baker format on Saturday, as the team totaled a pinfall of 5,033 on the second day of the Golden Bear Classic, hosted by Kutztown at Bowl-o-Rama. Through two days, the Ravens sit fifth.

Franklin Pierce opened the day in a conference match-up against Felician. By going 3-2 in the five games of the match, the Ravens were able to come out on top, 885-860. The final game of the day saw the Ravens knock down 191 pins, their highest single-game total of the day.

The second match of the day was against No. 15 nationally ranked Kutztown in another conference match. The Ravens kept it close through the five games, but were not able to defeat the Golden Bears and took their first loss of the day, 1032-879.

The third match of the day was the last conference match of the day, against Daeman College. The Ravens swept the Wildcats, outshooting them by 91 points in the fourth game, on the way to a final score of 834-568.

Franklin Pierce posted another sweep against Salem International University, dropping 812 pins to their opponent's 619.

In the fifth match of the day, the Ravens faced Mount Aloysius College. Despite winning two of the five games, the Ravens took their second loss of the day, by a final score of 853-789.

The last match of the day was against Morgan State, where each game came down to only a few pins, but Ravens came out on top, 834-813.

The Ravens continue on with the final day of the Golden Bear Classic on Sunday.
