EGG HARBOR, N.J. (February 22, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce women's bowling team won the program's first-ever tournament title today being best-out-of-seven in today's Baker matches in the third day of the Hawk Flight Invitational hosted by Monmouth University to wrap up the teams inaugural season.

 Junior Rebekah Varin (West Warwick, R.I.)  and Freshman Nicolette Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) were each named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Ravens started out hot with a 1028-1040 win against tournament host Monmouth. Freshman Curran Desjardins (Ashcutnet, Mass.), freshman Brittany Hovan (Paramus, N.J.), Varin, freshman Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.), and Varin bowled in the first six games. Raven record was 4-2, with a 1028 total pinfall for the Ravens, with 1040 total for Monmouth.

Freshman Rachel DesRUisseaux (Goffstown, N.H.), freshman Jessica Marcure (Attleboro, Mass.), Davies, Varin, and Desjardins bowled the next set of five games against New Jersey City University with a 4-1win, with a total pinfall of 810 for the Ravens and 609 for NJCU.

Once again the Ravens would bowl against Monmouth, with Desjardins, Hovan, Varin, Davies, and Varin bowling these five games. With a total of 968 pins dropped to Monmouth's 901, the Ravens took the 4-1 win for the round. The first game in this set marked the Raven's highest pinfall of the day- 211.
