Bowling Goes 2-1 on Final Day of Golden Bear Classic, Finishes Seventh

Ravens wrap up season next week

Ravens Bowling KUTZTOWN, Pa. (February 15, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University bowling team picked up a pair of wins over Felician as part of a 2-1 day on Sunday, to finish seventh out of 10 teams at the Golden Bear Classic, hosted by Kutztown University. In between the two victories, the Ravens dropped a match to Cheyney.

All of Sunday's matches were best-of-seven games in the Baker format. Franklin Pierce opened the day by going the distance against Felician and ultimately squeaking out a 4-3 win. The Ravens next met Cheyney, looking to avenge a loss in the weekend's opening match, but fell, 4-1. The defeat sent the crimson and grey into the seventh-place match to wrap up the weekend. The Ravens made it four wins in four matches against Felician over the last two days with a 4-2 win. Pinfall totals for Sunday's matches are unavailable at this time, but more details will be added if they become available.

After edging Saint Francis (Pa.), 4-3, in a semifinal, Fairleigh Dickinson dispatched Adelphi, 4-1, in the championship match to claim the tournament title.

The Ravens return to the lanes next week, on Feb. 20-22, when they wrap up their inaugural season by traveling to the Hawk Flight Invite, hosted by Monmouth University in Egg Harbor, N.J.
