Bowling has Three Compete at Junior Gold National Championship

RINDGE, N.H. (August 19, 2015) – Earlier this summer, the Franklin Pierce University bowling team had three student-athletes travel to Chicago to compete in the United State Bowling Congress Junior Gold National Championship. Soon-to-be sophomores Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Nikki Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) along with incoming freshman Sarah Busse (Commack, N.Y.) competed at the tournament for a spot on the United States Junior Bowling squad.
Bowling Earns Five Academic All-NTCA Honors, Team Honored as Well

RINDGE, N.H. (July 31, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University bowling team made quite an impact in the classroom over the past year, as the Ravens had five student-athletes earn Academic All-NTCA honorable mention, as announced earlier this summer by the National Tenpin Coaches Association. In addition, the team was also was recognized by the organization for overall outstanding academic achievement.

Bowling announces home venue change for 2015-16 season

RINDGE, N.H. (March 24, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce bowling team and head coach Kim Berit have announced they are moving to a new home for the 2015-16 season. The team will now call Yankee Lanes in Keene, N.H. as their new home for the foreseeable future.

Bowling Ends Inaugural Season with Tournament Title at Hawk Flight Invitational

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (February 20, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce bowling team came out firing on all cyllinders on Friday, as they went 4-1 in the first day at the Hawk Flight Invitational hosted by Monmouth University. The tournament’s first day was Baker style scoring.

(February 15, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University bowling team picked up a pair of wins over Felician as part of a 2-1 day on Sunday, to finish seventh out of 10 teams at the Golden Bear Classic, hosted by Kutztown University. In between the two victories, the Ravens dropped a match to Cheyney.

(February 13, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce bowling team returned to competition after a two-week break on Friday, as the Ravens took to the lanes at the Golden Bear Classic hosted by Kutztown University. Unfortunately for the Ravens, they were faced with a tough schedule, only taking one of five Baker matches on the day.
Bowling Drops Two of Three on Final Day, Finishes Fourth at Red Flash Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. (February 1, 2015) – Heading into bracket play on the third and final day of the Red Flash Invitational, hosted by Saint Francis (Pa.), the Franklin Pierce University bowling team was seeded fourth. After three best-of-seven Baker matches, the Ravens would finish fourth as well, after defeating Kutztown, then falling to Norfolk State and dropping a rematch with Kutztown in a tiebreak in the third-place match.
Bowling Lights Up the Lanes With a 4-2 Day at the Red Flash Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. (January 31, 2015) - The Women’s Bowling team competed in day two of the Red Flash Invitational hosted by Saint Francis University (Pa.). Today’s match was run in Format -1, a 5-person team game with a total pin fall. The Ravens placed fourth on Saturday at the lanes. Overall the team went 4-2, winning against Coppin State (851-740) in the first match, followed by a loss to Norfolk State (917-895), a win against Hampton (914-797), a win against Penn State Altoona (872-683), a win against Pittsburgh Bradford (916-718), finishing the day with a loss to Kutztown (902-867) Rebekah Varin (West Warwick, RI) posted a total score of 1122 after six games, with her best game being a 224- the highest for the entire team- in game 3 against Hampton. Freshman Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla) completed her six game day with a 1,098 total score with her best being a 207 against Kutztown. Freshman Jessica Marcure (Attleboro, Mass.) had a score of 1072 after six games with her best game against Norfolk State bowling a 218. Freshman Curran Desjardins (Acushnet, Mass.) bowled a 1067, while competing in 6 games, with her best being a 196 against Penn State Altoona. Freshman Nicolette Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) bowled in five games with at total score of 822 with her best being a 206 against Pittsburgh Bradford, she did not bowl against Penn State Altoona. Brittany Horan bowled in one game for the Ravens posting a score of 134 against Penn State Altoona. The Ravens return to action tomorrow for the final day of the Red Flash Invitational in Altoona, Pa.

Bowling Splits Pair of Matches on Final Day, Finishes Third at VUU Invitational

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. (November 23, 2014) – Heading into bracket play on the third and final day of the VUU Invitational, hosted by Virginia Union at Bowl America, the Franklin Pierce University bowling team was seeded second, and in the running for the program’s first-ever tournament title. The Ravens would have to settle for third on Sunday, after falling to Cheyney and defeating Felician, but still came home with hardware. Freshman Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.) was named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of play.
