Football Announces 2018 Recruiting Class

RINDGE, N.H. (March 1, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University football program, and head coach Rashad Watson are excited to announce the team’s 2018 recruiting class, which features 59 student-athletes from 15 different states. The new Ravens will join the team for the 2018 season in the fall.

Among the 59 recruits are 24 National Letter of Intent signees and one transfer from fellow Division II institution Southern Connecticut State. The flock of incoming Ravens features 12 recruits from a pair of traditional football pipelines, as six members of the class hail from Florida and six more come from Texas. Closer to home, Watson has recruited most heavily from neighboring Massachusetts, as the team is set to add 17 players from the Bay State.

A total of 11 members of the recruiting class reside in New Hampshire and will be remaining in their home state. Georgia, Maryland and New York will send three recruits apiece to Franklin Pierce, while California and Connecticut contribute two each, to round out the list of states featuring multiple recruits. The football program will also add one player each from Arizona, Louisiana, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.

“In this class, we have decided to focus mainly on the offensive and defensive front, as well as the secondary,” said Watson. “We are very excited about the incoming players from around the region and across the country. In every area on the field and in the classroom, this class makes us better. This group of guys wanted to be a part of something new and lay their own foundation to build upon in the future.”

A list of incoming recruits, grouped by home state, follows. All recruits are coming to Franklin Pierce from the high school ranks, unless indicated otherwise. Hometowns are listed in parentheses.
