Franklin Pierce sprint football community service

RINDGE, N.H. (March 29, 2016) -- Earlier this month, the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team participated in the National Football League's Play 60 initiative. The team sent 17 players to The Cutler School for an hour-and-a-half of play with the elementary school's students.

The Play 60 program, sponsored by the NFL, is designed to support an active lifestyle in youngsters by encouraging them to be active for 60 minutes a day. Through the Ravens' involvement, students at The Cutler School were introduced to football, were provided instruction and were taught the basic fundamentals of the sport.

The Franklin Pierce student-athletes spent an hour-and-a-half with the students, and each student received a participation prize at the end of the day.
