RINDGE, N.H. (July 3, 2012) -- A trio of Franklin Pierce University student-athletes were recently named to the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Spring All-Academic Team for their respective sport. The trio included softball senior Jamie Verner (Natick, Mass.), men's lacrosse junior Ben McDannell (Morrisville, Pa.) and baseball junior Ryan Thompson (Calgary, Alberta).

Softball Concludes 2012 Season Swept by Le Moyne

RINDGE, N.H. (April 21, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team concluded its 2012 season on Saturday as the Ravens were swept by Le Moyne in a doubleheader at the FPU Softball Field in Rindge. The Dolphins took game one, 10-3, and then capped the afternoon with an 8-1 triumph in game two. Franklin Pierce concluded its season with a 9-30 overall record and a 7-23 mark in the Northeast-10, while Le Moyne improved to 26-24 and 20-10 in league play.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 20, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team was swept by Saint Rose in a Friday doubleheader, including by scores of 8-5 and 3-0. The Ravens fell to 9-28 overall and 7-21 in the Northeast-10, while the Golden Knights improved to 14-27 and 10-18 in league play.

(April 17, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team was swept in a home doubleheader versus Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday, including dropping game one, 10-0 in six innings, and game two by a 5-0 count. The Ravens fell to 9-26 overall and 7-19 in the Northeast-10, while the Penmen improved to 23-15 and 13-9 in league play.

Briarcliff, N.Y. (April 15, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team's struggles continued on Sunday as the Ravens were swept in a doubleheader at Pace in Briarcliff, N.Y. The Ravens dropped both games in five innings, including an 8-0 setback in game one and a 10-2 defeat in game two. Franklin Pierce dipped to 9-24 overall and 7-17 in the Northeast-10, while the Setters improved to 26-14 and 13-11 in league play.

The Hawks took game one, 3-0, and then exploded for a 12-3 triumph in only five innings in game two at the FPU Softball Field in Rindge. Franklin Pierce dipped to 9-20 overall and 7-13 in the Northeast-10, while Saint Anselm improved to 14-18 and 8-8 in league play.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 7, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team was swept by American International in doubleheader on Saturday at FPU Softball Field in Rindge. The Yellow Jackets rallied for a 4-1 win in game one and scored six times in the first inning of game two and never looked back in earning a 9-6 decision. Franklin Pierce dropped its sixth and seventh games in a row in falling to 9-18 overall and 7-11 in the Northeast-10, while AIC improved to 10-18 and 6-12 in league play.

(April 4, 2012) – Junior catcher Jessica Furtado (Taunton, Mass.) hit a solo home run in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University softball team was defeated, 6-1, by Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play at FPU Softball Field. In the second game, junior left fielder Melissa Jalbert hit three home runs, including a grand slam, to drive home seven runs and lead Assumption to a 13-5, six-inning victory.

The games were played at Father Gartland Field in Easton, Mass. The Ravens dipped to 9-14 overall and 7-7 in the Northeast-10, while the Skyhawks improved to 15-7 and 8-6 in league play.

Franklin Pierce moved to 8-9 overall and 6-2 in the Northeast-10, while Merrimack moved to 8-8 and 2-2 in league play.
