RINDGE, N.H. (July 5, 2011) – A trio of Franklin Pierce University student-athletes were honored on Tuesday by being named to the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team for their respective sport. Senior standouts Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass.) and Emily Griffin (Leominster, Mass.) were named to the baseball and softball teams, respectively, while sophomore Emily Lodge (Lyman, Maine) was placed on the women’s lacrosse squad. Griffin and Lodge each produced a 4.0 GPA during the past year, while Ingui recorded an impressive 3.8 mark.

(May 11, 2011) -- A pair of Franklin Pierce University softball standouts were recently honored with prestigious post-season awards, including senior second baseman Emily Griffin (Leominster, Mass.) and junior center fielder Jayme Bilafer (Concord, Mass.). Griffin was named to the 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-District I Second-Team, while Bilafer was placed on the 2011 All-Northeast-10 Third-Team.

RINDGE, N.H. (May 9, 2011) -- Franklin Pierce University Vice President/Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh announced on Monday that Richard Hurley has resigned from his duties as head softball coach at the school. It was also announced that Christine Grenache will become the new head coach of the program, effective July 1.

WORCESTER, Mass. (April 30, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team concluded its 2011 season on Saturday by being swept by Assumption in Worcester, Mass. The Greyhounds won game one by a 7-2 count, and then pulled out a 6-2 decision in game two. Franklin Pierce fell to 10-31 overall and 8-21 in the Northeast-10, while Assumption improved to 25-16 and 19-9 in league play.

SCSU won game one, 8-1, and then picked up a 10-0 triumph in six innings in game two. Franklin Pierce fell to 10-29 overall and 8-19 in the Northeast-10, while the Owls improved to 25-16 and 18-10 in league play.

LOWELL, Mass. (April 28, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team dropped a 5-1, rain-shortened, decision to Le Moyne on Thursday at the UMass-Lowell Softball Field in Lowell, Mass. The Ravens fell to 10-27 overall and 8-17 in the Northeast-10, while the Dolphins improved to 14-20 and 12-10 in league play. The game was a rescheduled contest due to an earlier post-ponement.

(April 22, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University softball team split its Friday doubleheader with New Haven, winning game one, 5-4, and dropping a 6-1 decision in game two at the FPU Softball Field in Rindge. The game-one win was one of the most satisfying victories for the Ravens this season, who moved to 10-24 overall and 8-14 in the Northeast-10. The Chargers, who were ranked No. 7 in the latest NCAA Division II East Region Poll, moved to 24-13 and 14-8 in league play.

The Ravens fell to 9-23 overall and 7-13 in the Northeast-10, while SNHU improved to 16-20 and 14-8 in league play.

Despite the losses, there was a historical moment in program history as senior Emily Griffin (Leominster, Mass.) broke the program record for career hits. She had two hits in game one, and added another one in game two, to give her 136 hits for her career. Griffin moved into first place, ahead of former standout Lori Oleskewicz, who stroked 136 hits from 1993-96.
