Novice Four Places Third in Rowing Opener

WORCESTER, Mass. (October 15, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce women's rowing team opened up their season Saturday at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta in Worcester, Mass.

The women's novice four of sophomore coxswain Hannah Eldridge (Whitinsville, Mass.), freshman Laurel Branco (Westport, Mass.), freshman Phoebe DuFour (Davidsonville, Md.), freshman Tatyana Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and freshman Kesley Parker (Dummerston, Vt.) placed third in the event which was good enough for a bronze medal with a time of 20:14.153.

UNH (19:18.663) and the Bowdoin "A" boat (19:30.976) finished first and second respectively.

Pierce also had a varsity eight boat compete later on in the regatta and placed 21st of 27 other teams with a time of 16:45.872. WPI, Colby and Holy Cross took the top three spots in the race.
