Cross Country’s Fenoff, Thompson Pile up NE10 Weekly Awards

RINDGE, N.H. (October 2, 2018) – Freshman Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s cross country team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Athlete of the Week, as well as Rookie of the Week, for the week ending on Sept. 30, as announced on Tuesday by the Conference office. In addition, freshman Alana Thompson (Westampton, N.J.) was selected as Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week on the women’s side.

Fenoff finished eighth on Saturday, out of 241 runners, at the Saratoga Invitational, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He posted an 8k time of 25:45.0, to lead the Ravens to a fifth-place finish, out of 14 teams. It is his second selection as NE10 Rookie of the Week, as well as his first career Athlete of the Week award.

Meanwhile, Thompson placed 84th, out of 192, on Saturday. Her 5k time was a personal best of 19:45.1, to help the Ravens to a 13th-place finish, out of 16 teams. It is Thompson’s first career weekly award from the NE10.

After a pair of off weeks, the Ravens return to action on Saturday, Oct. 20, when they host the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
