Track & Field Boasts Four USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards; Honored at Team Level as Well

NEW ORLEANS (July 19, 2022) -- Four members of the Franklin Pierce University track & field program have earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as announced last week by the USTFCCCA. In addition, both the men’s and women’s squads were honored as All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA.

MANSFIELD, Mass. (June 26, 2022) - Fourteen Franklin Pierce student-athletes across seven spring sports pushed the envelope in the classroom, earning NE10 Academic All-Conference accolades per the official announcement by the league office on Wednesday morning. The fourteen Ravens selected to Academic All-Conference were out of a pool of 130 total selectees from the NE10 Conference for the 2022 spring season.

(June 22, 2022) -- Graduate student Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) of the Franklin Pierce University cross country and track & field program has earned Academic All-America First Team honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced on Wednesday afternoon.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – An official announcement made by the Northeast-10 Conference on Thursday, June 2nd unveiled a pair of Franklin Pierce student athletes as finalists for yearly distinguished honors, presented to both male and female graduating student-athletes.

Cross Country/Track & Field Lands Six on CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 27, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University cross country and track & field program has had six student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors from the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced on Thursday. Senior Will Aylward (Peabody, Mass.), junior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.), graduate student Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) and sophomore Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) of the men’s team, as well as seniors Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) and Stephanie Phoenix (Wallingford, Conn.) of the women’s team, were all named to the Academic All-District I First Team. As a result of their selection, all six will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (May 14, 2022) -- It was a trio of All-New England performances for the Franklin Pierce University track & field program on Saturday, as the team wrapped up its trip to the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Bryant. All three came on the men’s side, as senior Cody Tallent (Bellows Fall, Vt.) took eighth in the steeplechase, sophomore Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) was eighth in the 800 meters, and the 4x800-meter relay squad took eighth as well.

(May 13, 2022) -- Senior Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) and freshman Nouhayla Errahili (Fes, Morocco) were part of a three-way tie for second in the women’s high jump to earn All-New England honors on Friday, as the Franklin Pierce University track & field program partook in the first day of competition at the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Bryant.

EASTON, Mass. (May 7, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field program wrapped up its weekend at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Stonehill, on Saturday. Sophomore Stephen Harris (Billerica, Mass.) claimed the NE10 crown in the 200-meter dash to highlight the day for the Ravens, who finished fourth, out of 10 teams.

EASTON, Mass. (May 6, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team picked up a Northeast-10 Conference title in the 4x800-meter relay on Friday, on the first day of the NE10 Championship, hosted by Stonehill. Through the end of the first day, the Ravens are third in a nine-team field.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (April 30, 2022) -- In the final weekend of the regular season, the Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team competed in a pair of meets. On Friday, the Ravens had select athletes in action at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, for the prestigious Penn Relays. On Saturday, Franklin Pierce took fifth, of seven teams, at the Blue Devil Invite, hosted by Central Connecticut State, in New Britain, Conn.

(April 23, 2022) -- With the Penn Relays on the horizon next week, the Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team was in action on Saturday at MIT, for the Sean Collier Invitational. Senior Devin Jones (Manchester, N.H.) highlighted the day for the Ravens, with a school-record run in the 200-meter dash.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 16, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team was busy this weekend, with action at multiple locations. On Friday, select distance runners took part in the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College, and sophomore Wondu Summa (Burlington, Vt.) met the NCAA Championships qualifying standard in the 10k, with a school-record run. On Saturday, the Ravens were victorious at the Penmen Relays, hosted by Southern New Hampshire, highlighted by a school-record performance from the 4x100-meter relay team.

The ten selected Ravens were among a total of 82 student-athletes across seven sports to be honored by the conference.

Men’s Track & Field Alum Dage Minors ’17 Set to Take Part in Bermuda Games

DEVONSHIRE, Bermuda (April 8, 2022) -- Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field alum Dage Minors ’17 will take the biggest stage yet in his career on Saturday, when he runs in the 1500 meters at the Bermuda Games, to be held at the BDA National Sports Centre in his native Bermuda. The Bermuda Games will be broadcast live on NBC, with Minors’ 1500-meter race set to commence at 3:13 p.m.

Men’s Track & Field Wins SNHU Invitational; Ravens Also in Action in Florida

MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 2, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team had not one competition this weekend, but two. The team split up, with some athletes traveling to Daytona Beach, Fla., for the two-day Spikes Classic, hosted by Embry-Riddle. The rest of the team competed in Manchester, N.H., where they won the Southern New Hampshire University Invitational on Saturday, with a program-record 250-point performance.
